How do I backup my data to Microsoft OneDrive or GoogleDrive

It can often be a good idea to keep a security backup of your P11D Organiser data in a different location to the software and data itself - we have seen all sorts of issues (servers being corrupted, PCs crashing, cyber attacks) that would make this prudent. You will have seen that the software now asks you each time you quit whether you want to backup, that is our first step at trying to remind you to do this.

There are two ways you can keep an offsite backup of your data:


Backup To Another Location

Within the P11D Organiser select Admin > Backup P11D data to ZIP


In the window that appears, enter a description/reason for the backup, and then at the bottom of the window that appears, click the button with three little dots at the bottom of the screen:


You will now be offered a window that allows you to choose the location of the backup - use this to navigate to the chosen location on your PC or network - in this case a OneDrive location:


You will then be presented with a dialogue confirming all future backups will be saved to that location:


Clicking OK will then create your initial backup.
